Physical Therapy
The physical therapy team's goal is to maximize the resident's independence
and the ability to function in daily life. Individual treatment programs
will:

Occupational Therapy
Occupation Therapy is designed to increase independence and productivity by
considering personal goals and environmental demands when establishing a
treatment program. goals include:

increase independence and daily living skills, such as eating, dressing,
personal care and homemaking

 |
increasing joint mobility, muscle strength and coordination
|
 |
providing adaptive equipment and teaching compensatory techniques
|
 |
fabricating custom splints and orthosis to stabilize joints, reduce pain or
prevent deformity
|
 |
improving endurance through education in energy conservation and work
simplification
|
 |
evaluating the need for customized seating
|
Speech-Language Pathology
Speech-language pathology will help you optimize your talking and eating
abilities by:

enhancing swallowing abilities with practice in compensating strategies

managing nutrition for adequate oral intake
|
 |
improving communication skills by enhancing expression of verbal and written
language
|
 |
improving memory and problem-solving through thinking exercises

 |
improving voice quality and facilitating language development

helping you adjust to hearing loss

Respiratory Therapy
The goal of respiratory therapy is to improve pulmonary hygiene and to
maintain the individual's everyday living at its highest standard by:

 |
education for residents/families

 |

Restorative Nursing Program
Upon discharge from physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech-language
pathology, residents can benefit from our restorative nursing program. The
purpose of this program is to assist residents in maintaining independence in
all aspects of daily living as long as possible.

Medicare deductibles and co-insurance

services are covered as long as the resident meets the guidelines
established by Medicare to receive the program

**Private telephones may be installed in the resident's room at a cost to the
resident.
**Private cable television may be installed in the resident's room at a cost
to the resident.
